chartered landscape architect

Adam is a Chartered Landscape Architect and the most recent Past President of the Landscape Institute (LI). In 2012 he was made a Fellow of the LI for his influential role in changing the way public spaces are designed for children and young people. He is now elected Chair of the LI’s College of Fellows. 

In 2008, he established Davies White Ltd with fellow landscape architect Andrée Davies. They have won two RHS Gold Medals, two BBC People’s Choice Awards and an RHS Best in Show. In 2019, they co-designed the RHS Back to Nature Gardens with HRH The Duchess of Cambridge. They have recently been commissioned by The Imperial War Museum to design and manage the creation of a new destination playscape in Cambridgeshire and by the NHS to design and manage the creation of a garden for NHS Staff at University Hospital Southampton, funded by the artist Banksy and the Captain Tom Foundation.

 Adrian Wickham has been working in grounds maintenance for the public and private sectors since 1991.  He joined Glendale in 1998 on the company’s contract with the London Borough of Islington. 

Adrian has been one of Glendale’s many success stories.  He was identified at an early stage in his career as one to watch, and placed on the company’s Management Development scheme. 

Adrian has a vast amount of practical experience, and whilst working with Glendale completed his Masters in Business Administration. 

He is a keen and competitive member of Glendale’s senior management team, developing business and good practice in the industry.   

In September 2020 Adrian was voted onto the Board of Directors  of the British Association of Landscape Industries.  Adrian’s commitment to his wider community does not end there as he was accepted to Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Judiciary as a Magistrate in October 2020.

Andrew Corcoran is the Operations Director for Places Management who maintain over 55,000 homes and associated open spaces across England and Scotland. Andrew previous role was as Head of Landscaping for Places for People and he has also been the Managing Director of Glendale.

Andrew has an MBA from Cranfield University and a Law Degree from the University of Leicester.

Ewan has a passion for landscape that began more than 25 years ago when he set up a design and build company operating in London and the southeast.  Since then, he has worked as a landscape architect at Arup, the London Borough of Newham and also freelance.  He now oversees the design and delivery of public realm on urban regeneration projects as a development manager for global development, construction and investment company, Lendlease. 

Ewan has worked on landscape projects at every scale from private gardens to large scale schemes including the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Thames Tideway Tunnels and most recently, the mixed-use Elephant Park development.

With a keen interest in green infrastructure, Ewan passionately believes that the landscape industry holds the key to building healthy, livable places that help tackle the environmental issues of our time.

Gemma Murphy is the founder and director of ViewHR, an HR and Employment Law Consultancy supporting and advising 100s of organisations around the country. Clients include landscape contractors, garden centres and garden designers.

Gemma is a former specialist employment solicitor and experienced business leader. She has extensive experience in dealing with both day-to-day HR matters through to complex employment issues and strategic development, within a broad range of organisations. This brings an extra dynamic to her delivery and methodology as an HR Consultant.

The team at ViewHR are keen to help create great places to work for their clients’ employees, placing emphasis on encouraging great HR practices and wellbeing support in the workplace.

Jonathan’s career began in Ealing in 1980, and after senior roles in the public, charitable and commercial sectors, he became an independent consultant in October 2011.  Drawing upon 40 years of experience, Jonathan offers pragmatic advice on a broad range of tree-related topics to a wide customer base.

Instructions have ranged from individual tree inspections to enterprise wide tree surveys, hazard assessments and health and safety advice.  

Jonathan writes tender documents and method statements, and carries out tree surveys and impact assessments. He’s the Tree Officer for two local authorities and the Tree Safety Officer for a local school.

Managing Director of Frosts Landscape Construction, Ken White has led his business through a restructure and rebrand following a management buyout in 2018.

Having worked in horticulture for over thirty years, Ken is incredibly passionate about landscaping and is equally passionate about using his skills and experience to help others within the sector. Over recent years Ken has helped a number of businesses bloom through mentoring, and formal peer support. Ken’s social responsibility extends beyond horticulture as Co-Founder and Trustee of the children’s cancer charity Supershoes.

Ken is a Non-Executive Director of the Horticultural Trade Association and sits on the committee as a member for Association of Professional Landscapes, having previously held the position of chairman.

Paul founded Oak View Landscapes in 2004. He has built a team of highly respected professional staff who share his passion for quality landscape installation whilst working for a market leading, award winning company. Paul has over 30 years of experience within the landscaping industry after graduating from Writtle University College in 1989.

As well as leading Oak View, Paul performs an active role within the industry sector. He is a Director of BALI, a previous National Chairman from 2016-18 and recently he served as a Board Governor at Writtle University College for several years. He also plays a key active role as an industry charity fundraiser and is a BALI GoLandscape Ambassador and Trustee of the BALI Chalk Fund.

Outside of work Paul’s number one passion (after his family!) is Leeds United. As a home and away season ticket holder he’s looking forward to their return to the Premier League after a 16 year absence.

Phil Jones is the CEO of Cultura Group, where he has recently led a complete transformation and rebrand of the business. He is a principal figure in the UK horticultural industry, in which he has worked for over 40 years.

Phil is the former chairman of The National Contractors Forum, the BALI South Thames Landscape Training Group and has also served on the horticultural advisory panels for Brinsbury College and Merrist Wood College.

He has written several papers on the challenges facing our sector and is a regular contributor to industry events and publications.

Phil’s great passion, in addition to plants and green spaces is spending as much time as possible outdoors, walking and running.

Richard is the founder and Ex-Chairman of Green-tech the leading supplier of landscape products to the landscaping, forestry and horticultural industries. Green-tech which was founded in 1994 employed more than 80 local staff had a turnover in excess of £20 million when Richard and Rachel exited the business in 2020.

Richard has worked in the landscape industry for 28 years and is passionate about business and the development of the new generation of young landscape professionals.

Richard is Board Director & National Chairman for the British Association of Landscape Industries the UK leading trade member’s organisation.

Richard is CEO of Rabbit (Holdings) Ltd which has investments in a Business Park, Letting Property, and a Caravan Park. He is currently looking for new ventures in the Green Sector.

Outside of work Richard is married, a hobby farmer at heart rearing Belted Galloways Cows.
